Careers at Prairie Pines Childcare Center

Prairie Pines Childcare Center is located in Fosston, MN, and opened in July of 2022. The Center is currently accepting applications.

Lead Teachers
Lead Teachers have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young children, helping them reach their full potential.
- Work in a newly renovated, fully furnished childcare center
- Position starts at $18 an hour
- 7 paid holidays per year
- Scheduled training days without children to ensure you meet your training requirements
- PTO accrued and available for sick and vacation purposes
- 35% discount on tuition for full time employees

- A person with great communication skills. You can talk with parents and children (primarily ages 3-5).
- A person that has patience and is able to work with people who have different abilities.
- A person that is creative, that can use our provided curriculum and engage young children and parents. A person that can adapt these lessons for different ages and abilities.
- A person that is organized, can manage their time with multiple tasks and paperwork.
- A person with good computer skills.
As a Lead Teacher, you’ll set up your classroom, prepare lesson plans for preschool age children. Provide care and supervision for up to 20 children. Provide guidance for Assistant Teacher / Aide assigned to your classroom. Work with the Center Director to complete necessary paperwork and maintain compliance with state licensing standards.
Typical schedule – Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Meet necessary education and experience qualifications (ranging from a Child Development Associate + experience, Associate Degree in Early Childhood + experience, see our website for more possible combinations)
- Have or obtain First Aid / pediatric & adult CPR certification
- Don’t have the right credentials? Contact us, we may be able to assist with training.
- Must complete a background check prior to hire.
Assistant Teachers
Assistant Teachers have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young children, helping them reach their full potential.

- 7 paid holidays per year
- Scheduled training days without children to ensure you meet your training requirements

- A person that can take guidance from a Lead Teacher and follow lesson plans and/or directions on implementing lessons.
- A person that enjoys working and playing with children.
- A person willing to complete prep work and cleaning.

- Meet necessary education and experience qualifications (ranging from a High School Diploma / GED + experience, experience as a licensed family childcare provider + education, Child Development Associate + experience, see our website for more possible combinations)
- Have or obtain First Aid / pediatric & adult CPR certification

Aide
Aides have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young children, helping them reach their full potential.

As an Aide, you’ll assist the Lead & Assistant Teachers in setting up your classroom, following lesson plans for children. Assist in provide care and supervision for up to 20 children. Follow guidance provided by Lead & Assistant Teachers and Center Director to complete daily preparation, cleaning and supervision of children. Complete assigned prep / cleaning tasks or paperwork to maintain compliance with state licensing standards.
Typical schedule – Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
- Must be at least 18 years old, if under 18 must be supervised with children.
- Have or obtain First Aid / pediatric & adult CPR certification
- Must complete a background check prior to hire.
